Here you can find the answers to some frequently asked questions:
In simplified terms, our PCR corona tests use the nasal / throat swab taken on site or the gargle to separate and process the RNA with a so-called qPCR device. It is analyzed whether there are corona viruses in your organism. Due to the accuracy of our PCR corona tests, it is possible to determine the coronavirus infection from a very low number of coronaviruses (below 50) and thus shortly after infection.
Your smear will be analyzed by our trained staff shortly after collection. As a rule, the result is available after a few hours. For quality assurance reasons, it may happen that your sample has to be evaluated a second time. In this case the waiting time can be extended by a few hours. When booking the "Standard" PCR test, the test result is available to you in 2 to 6 hours, and in up to 24 hours for "Standard light". With the antigen rapid test, you will find out your test result after approx. 12 minutes.
No. Due to our quality promise, in rare cases your sample will be evaluated again due to quality assurance measures. However, this does not automatically mean that your test result is positive. You will be informed immediately via email or SMS as soon as your findings are ready and can be viewed online by you.
Even if the result of our PCR test is diagnosed by a specialist, the assessment is at the discretion of the competent authority. The PCR test result is valid for at least 48 hours up to four days.

Our PCR corona tests cost € 137.50 (standard, test result in 2 to 6 hours) or € 100 (standard light, test result in up to 24 hours) when booking via our online appointment system on this website. Without booking an appointment in advance, additional costs may apply on site. For a larger number of tests, we can make an offer for you, please send us your request via the contact form by e-mail to email@example.com or by phone at +43 720 980 990.
The Ct value is a measure of the amount of virus RNA present. (viral genotype of the coronavirus). The CT-Value ("cycle threshhold") is a quantitative measure of virus RNA. In a PCR test, the RNA is multiplied during the analysis until a signal is triggered and, depending on how many multiplication cycles are necessary, this indicates the CT-Value. The higher the CT-Value, the lower the virus concentration in the examined sample - and vice versa. In the SARS-CoV-2 PCR corona test sample, CT-Values in the 20s indicate high, those higher 30 indicate a low and higher 35 indicate a very low virus concentration in the sample. We only show the CT-Values in your personal user interface for "positive" results, not in the report itself.
The corona test is taken with the help of a so-called nasopharyngeal swab from the nasopharynx with a type of cotton swab. The swab is then placed in a sample tube and analyzed by our medically trained team. Our entire team does its best to make the smear as pleasant as possible for you. You can feel a slight pinch, but it doesn't cause any pain. The nasopharyngeal smear is of course not harmful to health.
Alternatively, we offer the gargle solution, in which you gargle a physiological saline solution for around two minutes.
Yes, the use of the Corona test provided by us is harmless to your health and the highest disinfection standards prevail on site at all times. Our team will only be in contact with you in a protective suit including gloves and face mask. The swab for the smear is individually sterile packed. The physiological saline solution used in the gargle test is also harmless to your health.
Yes, the SARS-CoV-2 test is safe for children and there is no age limit. If your child is not yet able to gargle, we ask you to contact our customer support: by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at +43 720 980 990. This way we can clarify whether a nasopharyngeal smear can be taken on the desired day.
Yes, gargle samples are legally recognized like the nasopharyngeal smear. It is also a PCR test. It is not noted in the results how the PCR test smear was carried out.

Via your COVID Fighters account, you have a data protection-compliant option to view your findings. Alternatively, after consultation with our staff, you can have your findings printed out at the Covitainer and pick them up there.
Our corona tests are officially recognized and the antigen rapid tests we use meet the minimum requirements for antigen tests of the WHO.
